Larry Ribbeck has been involved with dogs his entire life, beginning as a child with McDuff, the family dog.
Although his breed of choice is the Weimaraner, he has shared his life with many other breeds, including several “All-Americans,” a Collie/Shepherd mix, an Alaskan Malamute and a Golden Retriever.
Larry has a long history of competing with his dogs in a variety of activities. He has been involved with Agility since the start of the AKC event in 1994 and is now training and competing with his fifth generation of dogs.
He has done the same with three generations of Weimaraners in the AKC Hunt Tests, because he strongly believes that Sporting Dogs need to have the opportunity to perform what the breed was intended to do.
In addition, he has trained and competed with his Weimaraner in AKC Obedience and is currently preparing Rocky, his PACH Golden Retriever, for completion.
But perhaps his most satisfying activity is in Therapy Dog work. Rocky, the multi-talented Golden Retriever, is certified by the Therapy Dog International (TDI) organization and is currently performing weekly visitations at the Kaiser Hospital in Woodland Hills, California.
Larry believes that if you have not had the pleasure of sharing your life, as well as your home, with a dog, you may not have truly experienced the absolute devotion and love of a canine companion.
